Spätestens seit der Europameisterschaft in Polen und der Ukraine im Sommer dieses Jahres gehören die Iren zu den "Stimmungskanonen" im Fußball.

Obwohl der Sieg von St. Patrick's Athletic über NK Siroki Brijeg und der damit verbundene Einzug in die 3. Qualifikationsrunde gegen Hannover 96 erst wenige Tage alt ist, scheint sich zwischen dem irischen Erstligisten und den Roten eine Art "Fan-Freundschaft" zu entwickeln. In diversen Foren sowie auf den Social-Media-Kanälen verkünden irische Fans, wie sehr sie sich auf unsere 96-Profis, unsere Fans sowie die zwei Spiele freuen. Neben Reisetipps und Einladungen zu "pre-drinks" erzählen irische Anhänger von bisherigen Erfahrungen mit Hannover 96 und unseren Fans.

Spendenaktion für St. Pats-Fan
Insbesondere das Fan-Forum "Das Fanmagazin" wird in diesem Zusammenhang positiv hervorgehoben. Denn nachdem sich herausgestellt hat, dass St. Pats-Fan Gary, der im irischen Fan-Forum Infos für reisefreudige Hannover-Fans zusammengestellt hat, sich kein Ticket für das Rückspiel in Hannover leisten kann, haben einige Anhänger der Roten nicht lange überlegt und eine Spendenaktion gestartet. Es dauerte nicht lange, da war die Reise für Gary abbezahlt. Auf Einladung des Vereins kann er das Spiel im Stadion live verfolgen. Gary konnte sein Glück kaum fassen: "I don't actually quite know what to say. I'm stunned to be honest with you, I'm not going to lie I'm close to tears", freut sich der St. Pats-Supporter. "I just wanted to drop by to tell you guys that this is one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed", lobt ein anderer Fan diese Aktion.

meine Name ist Joseph and I want to say as a long time St. Pats fan, a very warm welcome to your club for the europa tie in Dublin, and also the travelling fans should make it a wonderful night for everyone involved. Along time ago in 1988, I was at the old ground for Ireland v USSR, the new stadium is fantastic, and I hope to have the pleasure of attending a game there in the future, as I may not be able to make the return, I will be keeping an eye on your club during the season.
