NIEMALSALLEIN

Leon Andreasen gave himself the best possible 30th birthday gift on Tuesday, returning to team training for the first time since his long-term knee injury.

Finally back on the pitch

Leon took part in the entire morning session but knows that after his cruciate ligament rupture half a year ago, he has some way to go before he can use it fully. “I’ve got to be careful and look after myself,” said the Dane after training.

Eggimann also returns

Mario Eggimann has also been back in team training over the last few days. At the beginning of the year, the defender picked up a metatarsus break but now, along with Leon Andreasen, returns to team training. Muscle problems forced Johan Djourou, Steven Cherundolo and Christian Pander all out of the session though. Christian Schulz also finished training early after a back complaint.
