Michael Frontzeck completes his backroom staff by naming former 96-player Christoph Dabrowski as his new assistant

After "Stevie" comes "Dabro"
There will be a new face around The Reds’ training ground come the start of pre-season training. Christoph Dabrowski has been promoted from U17 coach to assistant coach of the first team, and will work alongside Jan-Moritz Lichte, who already spent the last five games of the season on the touchline with Michael Frontzeck. Dabrowski succeeds American Steven Cherundolo, who made it known, after the team successfully survived relegation, that he wanted to return to his old position working at the academy.

Success with the U17s
The 36-year-old played 376 professional games in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for Hannover 96, Werder Bremen, Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Bochum, before retiring in the summer of 2013. He wore the red shirt of Hannover from 2003 until 2006. Dabrowski, who holds a UEFA ‘A’ Licence, was assistant coach of the U23 team in 2013/14, before he took over the position as head coach of the U17s for the following 2015/15 season. Under his leadership, the U17s reached the semifinals of the German championship, before they were knocked out by the youngsters from VfB Stuttgart.
