Wayne Thomas, who plyed his trade at Hannover 96 from 1985 to 1987, recently told STAMMPLATZ, the Reds matchday magazine, "I follow Hannover 96 and Aachen very closely, and only recently I was at a reunion here, which was great. My son was with me and he enjoyed it so much that he said, 'Dad, we have to become members here'." He has now kept his word.

Wayne and son Oliver are now 96 members

The 49 year old former professional, who scored six goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances for the Reds, has fulfilled his promise. Yesterday the ex-midfielder and his twelve year old son became official 96 members. The Welshman, who also made 28 appearances for 96 in the 2nd Bundesliga, had his application form processed on Tuesday morning.

A former colleague of Lala

Wayne Thomas brought his successful career to a close in the early nineties at Borussia Fulda, where he played with current Hannover vice-captain Altin Lala. He continues to live and work in Fulda.

Member #9796

The ex-pro becomes Hannover's 9,796th member, and in doing so moves the club a step closer to the magic total of 10,000 members. Why not follow Wayne's example and become a member of Hannover 96 yourself?
