Andreas Bergmann will remain in his position as head coach at Hannover 96. "We reached an agreement very quickly", said Hannover's sporting director Jörg Schmadtke. "Andreas Bergmann has already shown in two games that he can constructively take our team forward. We are convinced that this internal appointment of a successor to Dieter Hecking is the right one".

Contract until the end of the season

Both the club and Bergmann reached an agreement on a contract that will run until the end of the season. "It's a special challenge for me and one that I'm very much looking forward to, as working with the team is great fun. We are on the right track", said a confident Bergmann.

Since summer 2007 Andreas Bergmann had been sporting director of Hannover's youth training centre and coach of the club's under-23 team. After Dieter Hecking's departure, the 50 year old had provisionally taken on the role of head coach of the professional squad for two games.
