Fans had the opportunity to telephone our captain Steven Cherundolo on Tuesday courtesy of a promotion from sports magazine “Kicker”.

Interesting questions – honest answers
Fans big and small have spent an hour putting some tough questions to our captain and right back. Kicker Editor Michael Richter and Steve were impressed by the variety of questions: 12-year-old Lukas from Hamburg wanted to ask Steven who his best friend in the team is; his answer - Altin Lala: “We can still laugh about everything even after all these years, and still work well together.”

The beginning...
Our captain also gave an insight into his childhood and upbringing. He explained to Tim from Ibbenbüren how he decided on football: “Football is still very much under-represented as a professional sport in America. In any case a lot of kids play football, but from the age of about ten they decide to play a different sport, for example baseball, American football or basketball. I was always better at football, so I stuck with it. ”

...the current situation...
Sabine Kozian from Magstadt was delighted to be able to speak personally to the Reds' captain. “A great opportunity”, said the 49-year-old. Sabine had her fingers crossed for Steve during the World Cup and was proud of his performance: “Hannover is proud of you and your participating in the World Cup!”

Many callers wanted to know how the current atmosphere in the Hannover camp is following the DFB Pokal defeat to Elversberg. Dolo admitted that they were all down on Saturday, but commented that in the previous few days the atmosphere has gotten a lot better: “We are up for Frankfurt. We want to win!” His rallying cry for the season: “Reach 40 points as quickly as possible!”

...the future
11-year-old Lea from Bielefeld wanted to know whether Steven is married (“Yes, very happily!”) and whether he plans to have any children (“We're working on it.”). All in all it was a fabulous activity from Kicker and Hannover 96, as proven by the number of callers. The fans were delighted to be able to speak to their idol, while Cherundolo was impressed with the knowledge of his fans.
