Four more Kenyan schools have received water treatment plants thanks to your kind drinking cup donations and the friendly support of many Hannover 96 partners.

29,015 Euro has been collected
Thanks to the generosity of visitors to our stadium, voluntary workers and the help of our partners over the past season, around 18,500 deposit cups have been collected in aid of the “Drinking cups for drinking cups” campaign from Hannover 96, TUI, Global Nature Fund and the fan association Rote Kurve (Red Curve) e.V. Together with the cash donations a total of 29,015 Euro has been collected. This sum has allowed water treatment plants to be built over the summer at four Kenyan schools.

Spontaneous friendly game
One of the treatment plantations was built at the Migingo Girls Secondary School in the Kisumu East district in Kenya. Alongside delivery of the facility a set of TUI sponsored Hannover 96 kit was also handed over. Shortly afterwards a spontaneous game of football broke out between a “Hannover 96 team” and a “Migingo team” – with the red XI running out comfortable 4:0 winners.

New project area in the Ivory Coast
This coming season sees the “Drinking cups for drinking cups” initiative move to a new region. The project initiators want to support the home countries of the African 96-players. The Ivory Coast was the obvious choice, as both Didier Ya Konan and Constant Djakpa come were born and brought up there. The aim for the coming season it to develop and secure the water supply in the Ivory Coast.

Therefore we would like to remind everybody that every cup helps! If you would like to help then please take your deposit cup to one of the campaign desks at the AWD Arena – thank you!
