Hannover’s bulldog in midfield, Sergio Pinto, has been ruled out of action having torn ligaments in his left ankle during 96’s loss to FC Bayern München on Matchday 8.
Unfortunate birthday present
The club doctors made their diagnosis on Sunday, which was incidentally his birthday, after the midfielder landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge. The injury means that “Pinte” will undergo treatment over the coming days, whilst taking part in a specialised rehabilitation process aimed at getting him back to full fitness as soon as possible. It is still unclear as to how long the 30-year old will be out for, but from everyone at Hannover 96 we want to wish Sergio Pinto a quick and pain free recovery!

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.

Hannover 96 a été fondé le 12 avril 1896.
