NIEMALSALLEIN

Find out how Hannover 96’s players fared in action for their countries this week, and read about Ron-Robert Zieler's involvement in the Germany team.

Zieler makes the bench

For the first time in his career, Reds' goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler was named in the Germany matchday squad for Tuesday's game against Belgium. He was named as no. 2 in the squad behind Manauel Neuer and ahead of Werder Bremen stopper Tim Wiese. "It was great to be named on the bench. Everything is happening very quickly for me", said Zieler yesterday.

Lala completes 90 minutes

Hannover midfielder Altin Lala played the entire 90 minutes in Albania's 1-1 hoe draw with Romania. Steven Cherundolo featured for the USA in their friendly defeat to Ecuador; the 96 captain played the first 45 minutes of the 1-0 defeat. Midfielder Daniel Royer was named in the Austria squad for the game against Kazakhstan, but did not feature.

Sobiech scores for Poland U21s

Norway, without Mohammed 'Moa' Abdeallaoue and Henning Hauger, were 3-1 victors over Cyprus on Tuesday, but the result was not enough for them to make the EURO 2012 Championships. There was better news for Artur Sobiech. He scored in Poland U21s' 4-3 win over Albania U21s. The Poles lie two points and one place behind table-toppers Russia.
