Hannover have been drawn to face Spanish sleeping giants Atlético Madrid in the quarter finals of the UEFA Europa League. The two legs will be played on Thursday March 29th and Thursday April 5th.

Los Colchoneros await

After their stunning 4-0 victory over Belgian side R. Standard de Liège, 96 will now meet more Spanish opposition in the last eight. Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid booked their place in the quarter finals with a two-legged victory over Besiktas JK. The nine-time Spanish champions have great pedigree in Europe. They were the first winners of the Europa League after beating English club Fulfam FC 2-1 in 2010. But having already knocked out Sevilla FC in the qualifying rounds back in August, Mirko Slomka’s Reds will feel that this a place in the final four is well within their grasp.
