Bad news for 96 coach Mirko Slomka: the Brazilian newcomer Felipe has been ruled out for at least 2 weeks, following a muscle tear in his left hamstring.

Along with the disappointment of a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Wisla Krakau, there is more bad news for the squad. Felipe hobbled off the pitch after 32 minutes on Saturday, but the injury has only now been discovered to be a muscle tear following an extensive examination in Hannover. Slomka will be without his accomplished centre-back for at least two weeks, meaning Felipe is sure to miss out on both legs of the UEFA Europa League qualification match.

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.
