Hannover 96 were beaten by Goslarer SC 08 3-1 in Friday’s friendly. The hosts went ahead after goals from Alawie and Moslehe before Schmiedebach pulled one back for the Reds. It wasn’t enough though, as the fourth division side scored again, leaving the final scoreline at 3-1.

In rainy conditions, 96 suffered at the hands of a determined opponent. After Markus Miller made two saves from Muhamed Alawie and 96 had missed chances of their own, Alawie was rewarded for his efforts. The Lebanese striker met a through ball, beat Karim Haggui and goalkeeper Miller to open the scoring just before the break. It wasn’t long into the second half before the home side had doubled their lead. This time it was Mazan Moslehe who got on the scoresheet, after good work by Karabuluts. Schmiedebach then got one back for the visitors after a neat one-two with Lars Stindl. Diouf was then fouled in the area but Jan Schlaudraff wasted 96’s opportunity to equalise from the spot. Despite controlling the remainder of the game, the Reds couldn’t fashion out any concrete chances. The hosts added a third thanks to Eilers strike and
Hannover were left with no chance of launching a comeback, as they had done against TSV Pattensen.
