Defender Christian Schulz picked up an adductor injury in his left leg during the warm up for Hannover 96’s international friendly in the HDI Arena on the weekend. An MRI scan revealed the injury on Monday morning. The left-footed defender will be out of training for a few days.

Gökdemir and Ya Konan travel to Donaustauf

Ali Gökdemir has also picked up a knock. The club’s doctors used medical imaging to diagnose a fascia injury in his right thigh. Gökdemir will take part in individual, rehabilitation training on Wednesday in Donaustauf after a decision was reached between Hannover manager Mirko Slomka and the 96-medical staff.

Didier Ya Konan will also travel to Donaustauf in order to intensify the rehabilitation training he has been progressing with over the last few weeks since his knee operation. The pair will not travel with Hannover 96 to the training camp in Stegersbach/Burgenland (July 17-25). Franca will stay in Hanover and work with rehabilitation coach Edward Kowalczuk.

Haggui und Sobiech to return soon

Fellow training absentees included Leonardo Bittencourt (muscle problems in his thigh) and Hiroki Sakai (tear in adductors). Both players did travel with the team to the training camp in Austria though.

Both Karim Haggui (tendon irritation above his knees) and Artur Sobiech (heavily bruised foot) are expected to return to team training on Thursday. Their injuries kept them out of the PSV Eindhoven game. “Both have recovered in time so that we can include them in our plans during the training camp,” said manager Mirko Slomka.
