The Disciplinary committee of the German Football Association (DFB) has dropped investigative procedures against Marcelo from Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96.

Statement regarding Marcelo
"Following a review of the requested statements by the player Marcelo and his Hoffenheim opponent Sven Schipplock, it has been considered that the necessary intensity for it to be considered severely adverse behavior was not present,” explained Dr Anton Nachreiner, chairman of the DFB disciplinary committee. Hannover’s defender was suspected of having punched his opponent Sven Schipplock intentionally the neck and facial area with the right hand, towards the end of the Bundesliga match on April 25th 2015. When Schipplock subsequently fell to the ground, Marcelo picked up the ball with both hands and hit the Hoffenheim player on the head with it. When asked about the situation, referee Günter Perl stated that he’d not witnessed the incident, which prompted the disciplinary committee to investigate.
