Havelse battled hard
Roughly 3,000 fans showed up to witness the late-summer friendly match which was scheduled to take advantage of the international break. They saw, however, that the vision of "The Reds" takes some time to shift into gear. The fans and the friendly, used to celebrate the completion of recent renovations to the Wilhelm-Langrehr-Stadion, had to wait a full half of football before the goals materialised. This was largely to do with the outstanding performance of Havelse's goalkeeper Markus Straten-Wolf. He was equal to an accurate attempt by Lars Stindl in the 19th minute and then had to claw an effort from Pinto right out of the top corner. Other first-half chances that fell for 96 players were squandered by Pinto, Stindl, Schmiedebach and Ya Konan. Havelse created chances of their own as well, with Jan Zimmermann and Patrick Posipal coming close to finding the back of Markus Miller's net.
Goals aplenty in the 2nd half
The second half started well for 96 as they were able to open the scoring soon after the restart: "Didi" Ya Konan found the net in the 48th minute to make it 1:0. Sergio Pinto then added a second with an effort in the 67th minute before "Didi" scored his second of the match on the 76 minute mark to take 96 clear. It was then the turn of youngster Willi Evseev, who replaced new signing DaMarcus Beasley in the 60th minute, when he made it 4 goals for Hannover in the 80th minute. Less than a minute later Hannover were given the chance to score when Valdet Rama was unceremoniously brought down in front of the Havelse goal. Lars Stindl stepped up confidently to take the resulting penalty and easily made it 5:0 on the night. There was a consolation goal in the works for the hosts when Caglayan Tunc pulled one back in the 87th minute which gave the TSV Havelse fans something to celebrate.
On Saturday Hannover wrap up their series of friendly matches during the international break when they take on Czech side Mlada Bloeslav in Immensen. Kick-off is at 15:00.
