The good news just keeps on coming for Hannover 96: Following the 2-0 win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim it was announced that Sofian Chahed, Karim Haggui, Markus Miller and Christian Schulz have all put an end to speculation about their futures by signing new contracts with the Reds.

Renewed at the right time

The fans have been waiting a long time to hear the news and after months of speculation four Hannover players, whose contracts were due to expire at the end of the season, have signed the doted line on extensions with the club. Karim Haggui and Christian Schulz now have contracts running until 2014, while Sofian Chahed and Markus Miller have extended their stays as far as 2013.

“We’re excited that these four players decided to stay and continue working on the positive development of Hannover 96”, explained sporting director Jörg Schmadtke, who himself signed a contract extension over the weekend. “After intense, yet constructive discussions we’ve been able to reach an amicable solution for all parties involved.”

Christian Schulz, a stand out performer this season for the Reds, moved to Hannver from Werder Bremen in 2007. Karim Haggui and Sofian Chahed both made the move from in 2009 from Bayern 04 Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin respectively, while Markus Miller was the most recent acquisition having joined from Karlsruhe in 2010.
