Hannover 96 have today given under-23 coach Andreas Bergmann permission to discuss terms with VfL Bochum over a proposed transfer. If the move goes through, our academy director will be the new Head Coach of the 2. Bundesliga team.

"We granted his wish and cancelled his contract this afternoon. During his time as our academy director and manager, he was a role model to everyone. We thank him for his work at 96 and wish him the best of luck for his new challenge at VfL Bochum", explained Jörg Schmadtke. "Now there is a Bergmann in Bochum, in the middle of the Ruhr", quipped Hannover´'s Sporting Director.
Until further notice, management of the under 23’s will be taken over by Bergmann's previous assistants, Jürgen Willman and Lazar Djurdjevic.

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.
