Hannover 96 have been supporters of the city's 'More Fun, Less Alcohol' initiative since 2009. This year, Reds' striker Moritz Stoppelkamp has taken over the patronage of the initiative.

Stoppel' takes over responsibility for alcohol prevention

Moritz Stoppelkamp has become this year's patron of Hannover’s anti-drinking initiative. As a professional footballer, he knows that alcohol has no proper place in a professional sportsman life. "Constantly performing to a high standard and drinking alcohol – they just don't go together. A professional player can't go out on Friday night and expect to be in the best condition for a game the next day, just as a Sunday League player can't either. As a professional, a lot of kids observe what I do and how I live. So I'm happy to be an example for an addiction-free life", said Stoppelkamp.

Project leader happy about cooperation

Local youth and social worker Thomas Walter was especially pleased with the cooperation from Hannover 96. "We're able to show kids that you can still have fun without alcohol. Hannover 96 is a unique and prestigious association, and we're delighted to be able to work alongside them", said am encouraged Walter.
