Christopher Avevor has moved on a season-long loan to second division side FC St. Pauli with immediate effect. At the same time, he has extended his contract with the Reds until 2015.

 

Slomka: “An exceptional talent and a nice guy”

The terms of the loan are undisclosed. The defender has extended his current
Hannover contract, which expires on the 30th June 2014, by one year. “It has been difficult for me”, admitted 96-coach Mirko Slomka. “Christopher is an exceptional talent and a nice guy. He will be missed in our defence”, added Slomka. The 96-coach is sure however, “that St. Pauli are a good club for him to continue his improvement at. Apart from that, I’m delighted that he has also extended his contract with 96.”

Six Bundesliga appearances for the Reds

Avevor has been a part of the Hannover 96 set-up since August 2008. The
Kiel born defender arrived at 96 having left his home club Holstein Kiel. After impressing in the U23 squad, he has been playing for the first team since the 2010/2011 season. The 20 year old has made a total of six appearances in the Bundesliga for the Reds. His impressive development was underlined by a good performance in the recent friendly against Manchester United.
