Markus Miller has signed a new contract at Hannover 96, extending his contract that was due to run out at the end of the season until June 30th 2015.
“We feel really settled here”
The goalkeeper signed his new contract in Jörg Schmatdke’s office. “I am happy and convinced I have made the right decision to stay with Hannover 96. My family and I feel really settled here. When I’m needed and ready to play – that’s what I train for every day and I’m always driven,” said Markus Miller. The 31-year-old keeper has completed one competitive match for the Reds so far: He played against Vorskla Poltava in the UEFA Europa League group stages in December 2011.

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.
