After staying up in the first league the preparation has already started for next season. What will the first team be up to, and what did President Martin Kind think of this season?

Players head off for holiday
Whit Monday is the first day of holiday for our team after the conclusion of the 2014-15 season. After a successful 2-1 victory on Matchday 34 over Freiburg, the squad met up one last time on Sunday evening in the dressing room of the HDI Arena. President Martin Kind, sporting director Dirk Dufner and coach Michael Frontzeck said their goodbyes before the players headed off on holiday. In a short speech, Kind thanked the team, the coaches, sporting director and staff for leading the club to safety and picking up eight points in the last three games. The squad will start training on the 24th of June as they will prepare for the 2015-16 Bundesliga season, starting on 14 August 2015.

Kind: "Amazing support"
Kind visited the “NDR Sportclub” on Sunday evening where he gave his review of the season. "The identity of Hannover 96 has really developed in the city of Hannover and the surrounding areas. There was amazing support in the HDI Arena on Saturday and I want to thank the coaches, players, and most importantly the fans. All of this combined is a work of art, and was enough for us to stay in the Bundesliga."

Amazing support by the fans against Freiburg

Analysis of the season
In a TV interview, Kind talked about his intentions for the next coming days. His main priority is to talk to coach Michael Frontzeck. "It’s important to talk about his tactics for the future. I have a vision, but I want to sit down and discuss with Michael. We will speak this week and I am very optimistic." When being asked about what he thought of the season Kind said "It was a year of regression as our goal was to finish in the top halve of the table."

Mikko Albornoz and Hiroshi Kiyotake will be in international action

International duty on the cards
While some players will be with their families on vacation, others will be playing for their respective national teams. Hiroki Sakai and Hiroshi Kiyotake, who scored the first goal against Freiburg on Saturday, are on the way to Japan to meet up with their national team. Later this week other nations will be announcing their teams. Someone who is in the spotlight is Leonardo Bittencourt. The Germany U21 international is hoping for a successful European championship in the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, Miiko Albornoz has also been nominated for the provisional team of Chile before the 2015 Copa America. The 44th edition of the tournament will take place from June 11 to July 5 as every nation taking part will only be allocated 23 players.
