96's left-back Michael Tarnat went under an operation on Tuesday morning. The experienced 38 year old had suffered a muscle tear in his left thigh, which required surgery.

Three months out
Tarnat went under the knife on Tuesday morning at the surgery of Munich specialist Dr. Ludwig Seebauer. He will be sidelined for at least three months.

Tarnat originally picked up the injury away to Leverkusen in March and although the Reds' medical team's rehabilitation program had been a cautious one he has suffered a recurrence of the tear which required an operation.

Hannover 96 wish Michael Tarnat a successful operation and all the best with the recovery process!
