Hannover 96 have signed Oliver Sorg from SC Freiburg. The right back has put pen to paper on a contract until 30th June 2019.

"A flexible, versatile player in defence“
25-year-old Oliver Sorg (born 29th May 1990) is a youth product of Freiburg and passed through the youth ranks of the Breisgauer, from U17 to U19, before moving up to the reserves in the 2009/10 season. Sorg has been a member of the first-team squad since the second half of the 2011/12 season, making 105 Bundesliga appearances and scoring three goals. The big right back, who stands at 1.75 metres tall, has experience on the international stage, having played in five games for Freiburg in the 2013 Europa League. Moreover, Sorg received his first senior international cap for Germany in a friendly against Poland in May 2014.

96’s director of sport Dirk Dufner:
“With Oliver Sorg we have signed a flexible, versatile player in defence, who, with his experience, mindset and character, will be a superb addition to the team.”

96’s new boy Oliver Sorg:
"I’m really happy about my move to Hannover 96. I think it’s the right step for me. The club, the setting, even the city of Hannover, completely match what I’d imagined. I’d like, however, to use this opportunity to thank the entire team at SC Freiburg, but especially my coach Christian Streich, for everything that he has given me in all these years.”
