This Tuesday, our sporting director Jörg Schmadtke celebrated his 46th birthday! Everyone at Hannover 96 wishes him many happy returns!
Happy Birthday!
Jörg Schmadtke took over as sporting director of Hannover 96 at the beginning of the season having previously managed Alemannia Aachen, who he led into the UEFA Cup in 2004.
His time so far at 96 has been full of excitement, with the signings of Karim Haggui, Constant Djakpa, Dider Ya Konan all arriving under his leadership in the summer. Arouna Kone and Elson also arrived in the winter as the Reds aim to stave off relegation.
Everyone at Hannover 96 wishes Jörg Schmadtke many happy returns on his Birthday and hope that he can continue to bring top-class players to the club.

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.

Hannover 96 a été fondé le 12 avril 1896.
