The leading international car-components firm and tyre manufacturer Continental, have expanded their long-standing relationship with Hannover 96 and as of this season, will be exclusive partners of the club.

Three year contract with Continental

Continental and 96 are two great trademarks of
Hannover and have been an excellent pairing for many years. Immediately before the first home game at the AWD-Arena of the 50th Bundesliga season, the pair made public their intentions to work together more closely. The business in Hannover will profit from an extensive sponsorship deal: Alongside pitch-side advertising boards, a strong attention to the presence of the logo and hospitality packages, the sponsorship deal also includes numerous methods of communication, such as online-advertising and displays in the stadium magazine. The length of the contract is three years.

Bundesliga team travel with Continental tyres

“The increase of commitment from an international company like Continental towards Hannover 96 has become even clearer and we are delighted about it. For me, this is evidence of how attractive and sought after 96 is as a platform, not least for their sensational performance in the UEFA Europa League”, explained 96-president Martin Kind. The team bus of the Bundesliga club is of course, fitted with safe and reliable Continental tyres.

Europa League Participants cater for football-excitement

“We were very happy with the results of our year long business and hospitality partnership with Hannover 96. After the promising recent development in the Bundesliga and the Europa League, we want to give the traditional club from Lower Saxony, an area in which we employ around 12,000 people, our support for the sustainable development of one the leagues top six sides. We hope to see Hannover 96 continue to compete in the Europa League, something which resulted in great excitement for both us and our business partners in the last two years”, said Nikolai Setzer, a member of the Continental AG board and director of the tyre sector. The latter employs around 41,000 people and in 2011 had a worldwide turnover of more than 8, 8 billion Euros.

Ron Wiegand, SPORTFIVE team leader in
Hannover, added: “The expansion of the partnership is exactly the right step and is a result of the positive development of the side. It’s a great sign that along with their sponsorship of the German Cup and Bayern München, Continental have strengthened their partnership with Hannover 96.”
