Hannover 96 and Jörg Schmadtke have agreed to terminate the sporting director's contract with the club on June 30th 2013. The decision was made following a meeting between 96-president Martin Kind and Jörg Schmadtke this afternoon.

 

Schmadtke released

The sporting director of Hannover 96 GmbH and Co. KGaA approached the club with this wish. The content of the discussions that took place has been kept confidential. Jörg Schmadtke will be mutually released this coming Saturday, April 20th 2013.

Schmadtke has worked as sporting director for Hannover 96 since the summer of 2009. “I deeply regret these developments. Jörg Schmadtke made his wishes clear that he wanted to end his collaboration with the club at short notice. We complied with that request,” explained Martin Kind. “Jörg Schmadtke has been involved in very successful work over the past years. He has made good, important decisions for the club and has been significantly responsible for the sporting development of Hannover 96. We are very grateful to him for that and wish him only the best for the future in both his career and personally.”

“It was a very intensive, emotional time. I would like the thank the management, my colleagues and the fans for their support,” said Jörg Schmadtke.
