NIEMALSALLEIN

Jan Durica has become the latest addition to the Hannover 96 squad. The Slovakian defender has moved to the Reds on loan from Lokomotiv Moscow, with a purchase option available to the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.

Champions League experience

The 28 year old international, who started his career with home town club DAC Dunjaská Streda, brings with him Champions League experience in the form of six appearances for Artmedia Bratislava in the 2005/06 season. The Slovakian side celebrated becoming Slovakian champions in 2005. The six foot one central defender then spent three years in the Russian premier league with Saturn Ramenskoje before moving to Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2009.

"More options"

"Jan Durica is an experienced player, who is strong in the tackles and will fit into our team well", explained Hannover coach Andreas Bergmann. "We are very happy that he has decided to join us. Now we have a lot more options", continued Bergmann.

The centre back, who can also fill in on the left side of defence, is to receive the number four shirt. "I'm excited about Hannover 96 and the Bundesliga", said the Slovakian following his arrival on Tuesday evening. "I hope I can fulfil my potential here and I would like to help Hannover become more stabile in defence". Durica also looked forward to his possible inclusion in the Slovakian side participating in the World Cup in South Africa this summer. The first challenge comes on Wednesday, when the 28 year old will join his new team mates for training.

On behalf of Hannover 96, we welcome Jan Durica and wish him every success with the Reds!
