“An essential squad member"
“We’re delighted to announce that we’ve succeeded and Didier has signed a long-term contract with the club. With his technique, speed, dynamic and prominence in front of goal he’s an essential member of the Hannover squad”, stated sports director Jörg Schmadtke. “The fans love him and Didier is enjoying himself here.”
“Creating a solid foundation”
Ya Konan himself is really looking forward to what the future holds for his career with Hannover 96: “With the team we’ve got and the inspirational fans behind us there is nothing we can’t achieve, maybe even playing on the European level. What we have achieved has allowed us to create a solid foundation for the club. Now we can continue to build on our good work this season. I’m really looking forward to the next few years with Hannover 96.”
“Didi” has recently been sidelined with a problematic knee injury involving his meniscus, which has resulted in the Ivorian striker needing an operation. The procedure was successful and Mirko Slomka is hoping his start striker will be back in time for the start of the second half of the season. 9 goals this season have proven how important he is to the Reds ambitions and it provides Slomka and the fans with an early Christmas present as they get to look forward to further years with Ya Konan leading the line.
