Felipe scores his first goal
Mirko Slomka’s team set the mood of the game right away, as Mario Eggimann put the Reds in the lead after just six minutes. A minute later, “Kocka” Rausch doubled the advantage following a cross from Cherundolo. Jan Schlaudraff left three HSC-defenders chanceless in the 21st minute and bagged his goal of the day. Further goals in the first half were scored by Christian Schulz, Didier Ya Konan and Felipe, his first goal for H96. The score was 6-0 at half time and more pleasing than the result for coach Slomka was the fact that Lars Stindl played the entire first half without any problems. “That’s very important for us,” explained Slomka.
Ten changes at halftime
Slomka then made ten substitutions at halftime – only Christian Schulz played the full 90 minutes. Artur Sobiech scored his first goal of the day shortly after the restart and added a second 20 minutes later. Daniel Schulz scored an own goal to make it 9-0 in the 73rd minute. Nico Gießelmann added his name to the score sheet with the 10-0 and two more goals followed in the last five minutes by Leon Andreasen and again Sobiech, who thus completed his hattrick.
Coach Slomka was pleased after the final whistle: “That was a good test. We never took our foot of the gas and showed a good performance.”
