Fan favourite Mame Diouf celebrates his 25th birthday on Sunday. We wish our goal-getter, who was born in Dakar on 16.12.1987, all the best and hope he can score lots of goal in the second half of the season as well.
An asset for 96
Mame Biram Diouf began his footballing career in his hometown with ASC Duaraf Dakar. With his move to Norwegian club Molde FK he really began to develop as a player, scoring 10 goals in his first season, ending the campaign as the team’s top scorer and being a large part of the team’s success. Thanks to their reliable goalscorer, Molde secured promotion to the Norwegian first division. Manchester United became aware of the Senegalese striker’s talent and signed him in the 2009/10 season. The 25 year old has worn the colours of Hannover 96 since the January 28 2012. Within a year, Mame has become a valuable player and goalscorer for the Reds. He has found the back of the net six times in 13 Bundesliga games. The Senegal man has a good chance of securing the title of his club’s top scorer again this season. The Hannover fans have also recognised his strong performances, regularly rating him among the top three players in the TUI “Man of the Match” award.

Hannover 96 was established on 12th April 1896. In its long history, rich in tradition, the greatest successes have always come when the special bond between club and city, and between the club and its fans, was at its strongest. Because of that we have the club motto “NIEMALS ALLEIN” [‘Never Alone’]. The most glorious moments in the club’s history include winning the German championship in 1938 and 1954, as well as the Cup success of 1992. In their early days, 96 established themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The stand out memories for the fans in recent years include the two seasons in the Europa league in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. In 2015/16 Hannover will compete in the Bundesliga for the 14th consecutive season.
