Hannover 96 thoroughly enjoyed their friendly against Rintelner Select XI, finishing 16-0 victors. Jan Schlaudraff and Artur Sobiech both picked up five goals with Pläschke (2), Aycicek, Pinto and an own goal sufficing for the rest.

Nearly 2,000 fans in Rinteln

Hannover’s friendly against Rinteln’s Select XI was organised so as to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of SC Rinteln, TSV Eintracht Exten and SV Enger. Nearly 2,000 fans watched on as the Reds took control of the game right from the start. After holding out for the opening quarter of an hour, Deniz Aycicek opened the scoring after good work from Schlaudraff.

Reds pick up the pace

The home side’s attacks were swiftly dealt with and Slomka’s men were allowed to counter attack quickly and create a number of chances in front of goal. Jan Schlaudraff took one of those chances to add the second with a stunning volley. Two goals in a minute near the half-hour mark from Sobiech and Pinto settled the score. Schlaudraff’s right footed effort led to Nikci scoring the fifth before the hosts scored an unfortunate own goal to make it 6-0. Shortly before the break, Schlaudraff scored a penalty and Sobiech added another to make it 8-0 at half time.

Youth players get involved

Rinteln changed their entire eleven during the interval and send a newly motivated side back onto the pitch. 96 made four changes with Gießelmann, Noto, Pläschke and Fölster replacing Pander, Schulz, Löhden and Pinto.

More goals

96 didn’t stop pushing at the start of the second half and pushed on in search of more goals. Schlaudraff, who else, scored the ninth before Hannover started to score in relentless fashion. Nikci finished off a good move from Aycicek before Sobiech left the goalkeeper no chance with his rasping right-footed strike. Substitute Pläschke got on the scoresheet after good work Schlaudraff to make it 12-0 before Schlaudraff was once again involved, this time turning provider for Nikci. Schmiedebach then set up Sobiech for the 14th as the Reds finally took their foot off the gas. Sobiech and a fine finish from Pläschke saw the final scoreline read 16-0.
