The Hannover 96 academy is working wonders again. Waldemar Anton, an 18-year-old defender, and Mike-Steven Bähre, a 19-year-old attacker, signed professional contracts with the club on Friday.

"Convinced by their talent and character"
"Waldemar Anton and Mike-Steven Bähre are good up-and-coming talents thanks to the work of our academy," explained sporting director Dirk Dufner. "In order to make the step up to Bundesliga football they will have to step up their game once more. We have faith in their ability to do this - their current level of talent and the character they show convinced us."

U19 runner-up last summer
Waldemar Anton captains the U19 whereas Mike-Steven Bähre is a regular in the U23 squad. They were both part of the Hannover 96 U19 squad who finished second in the German Championship last summer.

Mike-Steven Bähre has trained with the seniors.
