The transfer of Japan World Cup participant Kiyotake from 1. FC Nurnberg to Hannover 96 is a match made in heaven.

Contract until 2018
The 24-year-old (born on 12th November 1989) attacker has signed a four-year contract until 30th June 2018. Kiyotake came to the Bundesliga in summer 2012 from Japan and made 64 Bundesliga appearances (7 goals) for Nurnberg in the past two seasons. He also played for Japan at the World Cup in Brazil in the group game against Colombia.

He’s still developing
“We are delighted that Hiroshi Kiyotake has chosen to sign for Hannover 96 despite several other offers”, said 96-Sporting Director Dirk Dufner. "Kiyotake is only 24 years old, he’s still developing. Despite this, he has made people take notice of him after his first two seasons in the Bundesliga and presence in the Japanese national team.”

Second Japan international for the 96
After World Cup participant Hiroki Sakai, who moved to Hannover 96 in summer 2012, Kiyotake becomes the second Japan international in 96’s squad for the Bundesliga. Prior to joining Nurnberg, Kiyotake played his trade for Cerezo Osaka in the J-League. He has made 26 appearances to date for the national side.

Versatile in attack
“Hiroshi Kiyotake can be deployed anywhere in attack, is a good team player and takes great set-pieces”, explained 96-head coach Tayfun Korkut. “I’m happy that the transfer has been concluded before we begin our training camp in Bad Radkersburg on Sunday.”
