Hannover 96 have extended Germany U21 international André Hoffmann’s contract until summer 2018. The defensive all-rounder’s previous deal was set to run until June 30th 2016.

Dufner: “Committed to 96”

“We are very pleased with André Hoffmann’s development. He has developed into a seasoned Bundesliga player in the past year and a half at Hannover 96. His early contract extension shows he is committed to 96,” explained sporting director Dirk Dufner. “We see him as a long-term member of our team and we’re confident that André has the best conditions here to continue his step-by-step development as a young professional.” André Hoffmann joined Hannover from then second-division side MSV Duisburg in January 2013. The defensive all-rounder has made 39 Bundesliga appearances since then, scoring two goals.

Hoffmann: “It just works”

“It was absolutely the right decision for me back then to make the step from MSV Duisburg to Hannover 96 in the first division. Extending here now is also the right move. Both parties are happy with one another. It just works,” said André Hoffmann. “I’m a steady person. Wherever I feel comfortable, I’m happy to stay longer. That was the same as MSV, so I’m happy that I’ve said ‘yes’ to a contract extension with full conviction.”
